It wouldn't be too bad to work up a quick CAD of this and make a bent sheet metal plan for sendcutsend. I could also use my 3D scanner to make a reference model, if someone wants to let me borrow a part.
Does anyone have the approximate dimensions, including the preferred angle? I should be able to make the model in an hour or so.Agree, this looks like a pretty straightforward bent metal part. Especially if the patterning is something simpler - see this eBay listing with a very simple pedal that definitely shouldn’t cost $250
I also have a 3d printer, had borrowed one from local forum member Mark but my daughter loved it so much convinced me we needed one of our own, so can scan it in but same issue - we need to get someone with the part matched up with someone with a printer. The post-scanning work also requires some skill which I am only slowly acquiring.
Although this part is simple enough with primarily flat surfaces that are rectangular in shape without any curves so I agree with Scott that it may be just as quick to mock it up de novo.
I would opt for patterning that matches the current pedals. For my purpose having it match a pre-existing Alpina style wouldn’t be critical, would more want it to match the style of the car.
See what your simple question has brought about, @Catbert? Have to be careful what you wish for around here!
Let the brackets work for good attachment. BTW... love that steering wheel! This is my Csl…….. more interesting than the dead pedal are the green floor mats! Those are actually from Burkhardt Bovensiepen’s personal office carpet. For those who don’t know, he was the founder of Alpina.
When he retired, his office was being renovated for his son and a good friend of mine who was an Alpina employee, removed the carpet and made 3 sets of E9 floor mats…….
Ahhhhhhh! This photo shows the different angles of the top brackets. Great! Just what I needed to see. Not hard to make. In fact, I already purchased the materials. See my latest post on this thread. So, this design fits the E9, yes? The eBay post indicated it is for the E30. Can't be the same for both. I am only interested in the mounting specs... floorboard contour. The material can be many things as can the cosmetic design. Thanks for the PDF!okay, here is the rough draft of the Alpina dead pedal. dimensions / angles are approximate ... it probably needs some fine tuning / checking
