Just a thought. Could everyone please keep this thread limited to providing suggestions to OP of how to get his car registered in CA? The political stuff is peripheral to the request.
Any 4th gen 4WD Toyota 4Runner V8 (roughly mid 2000s in vintage). The engines are bulletproof and they can haul anything and go anywhere, even with a stock suspension setup. Their main drawback is frame rust. Yes, they do have a frame. There is a cottage industry for upgraded suspension parts...
I replaced a couple of bulbs in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner dash display with LED equivalents. My advice is that LEDS have plus and minus contacts, so one has to have the polarity correct or the LED will not light. That's the bad news. The good news is they come in a myriad of wattages and colors.
I'm in the Hudson Valley and other than photos from the Saratoga car events, I haven't seen another E9 locally in many years. They must be out there somewhere. Nor have any of my local BMW dealers seen one recently (I'm on my 8th BMW a 2018 530e), at least according the the various car salesmen...
I didn't want to derail the E9 EV conversion thread, so here's a link to an article about the German car industry and EVs:

5 years from now when all the gasoline stations are only selling hydrogen and electricity, I'm afraid that mane will have the last laugh on us. The days of the ICE car are rapidly drawing to close.
I find this to be one of the most interesting build threads ever. As an owner of a 1972 E9 and a 2019 530 AWD eDrive, I wish that I could merge the best features of both cars. This build is even better.
As an aside, the CSE build blog URL is actually:

If you said that five years ago, I'd would have agreed with you. Porsche has tried to go more mainstream with the Macan, the Cayenne and the Panamera
This has sold more cars but has split the fan base in two. Now there is a lot of discussions between owners of "real" Porsches and newer model...
This post is not designed to make a plea to save Tapatalk access because I understand the administrative hassle of maintaining the Tapatalk interface. But I do want point out a few things. If it wasn't for Tapatalk I'd probably not visit legacy message boards on a daily basis. There is...
I noticed that previous sets with oil smudged fingerprints, drops of dried blood and profanity-laced handwritten notes have sold for a lot more.[emoji6]
Thanks Markos, that's the site. It looks like the parts are for an E3, so I'll have to check the part numbers unless anyone knows offhand if they are the same for both the E3 and E9. The black version on that site say they're for both.
About 6 months ago someone started a thread here looking for the tan nylon part that goes on the top of the 1972 E9 armrest. As I recall, someone else responded that the part was available in a variety of colors on a German eBay site.
At the time I didn't need the part but I remember out of...
