    Hurricane Ida

Steve, Just got home from nola. I took my daughter down to retrieve some things from her apartment (about a block from you if you recall). Mostly limbs down and a few small trees uprooted. I’m not sure if you evacuated before or after Ida but your place looks fine here is a shot of St. Charles...

Help with side mirror location measurement

Whoa, hold on. pickman, I just saw in your earlier post that you have the slotted (London underground logo) holes. I’m not sure the rivnuts will work for you...maybe not enough surface area for the rivnut to grip. Perhaps Keshav’s suggestion in post #6 would be a better solution. If you want...

Help with side mirror location measurement

It’s been a couple of years but I think I got them off eBay. PM me your address and I’ll send you what you need plus enough to practice with. I’ve got a bunch left over. I used the rivnuts when I added my right side mirror. Worked great. Treat the raw edges after drilling and practice on a scrap piece of sheet metal.

    Heartbreak-broken rear shock mount

Steve, For an overlap joint like you you have designed here you might wat to consider pre-treating the blind areas with something like Wurth zinc rich weld-thru primer to get at least some rust protection. I have used this with good success in applications like this. JNL
