Spent a decent amount of money on some parts today.

1) New Radiator: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-22498-17111121295-genuine-bmw-part/
2) Bilstein HD Shocks and Strut Inserts:
3) Variety of items from Walloth, mostly hardware, gommets, right side mirror, shiny plastic vents (hood and sides), lenses for the front turn indicators, elephant skins

Waiting for stefan to get back into the office then will order from him all the rubber seals, engine bay insulation, firewall insulation, and some other things.

My 1973 2002Tii with all hands on deck at VSR was 7 months from delivery in September 18th 2017 to completed delivery April 16th 2018. Many were surprised it how quickly it was done.

@OCCoupe's car took, as I recall 3+ years to complete.
I wish you all the best in your restoration.

Ordered a decent amount of rubber seals from WN.

also will be purchasing front and rear subframe hardware.

Edit: Decided to purchase seals from Stefan instead since his "set" is more complete and cheaper :D

Quite a list, Bobby! Thanks again for pulling the Coupe out yesterday. Looks like a great car and with your plans, soon to be much nicer!

VSR was 7 months
IMHO, The key is VSR is a deep specialist in these cars, enabling great planning and little time guessing or head scratching. Contrast that with Scoot V’s experience with a good shop that knew nothing about E9’s.

It’s like getting a root canal by a person who does them all day long vs a DDS generalist who does one every 6 months. The specialist might be a tad more but the pain is over faster and the work is better.

There's still a year before the next Legends of the autobann. Giving another 6 months for "completion". Of course there will still be more work to do afterwards. This is just the body work + paint + interior. I'll be saving the FI conversion to a later time :D.

slow down! You can’t do quality in a hurry. Detail takes time. Move too fast and you’ll overlook little bits that make it special.

i have a tendency to go from 0 - 100 real quick. helps me at work a lot. but doesn't help for car restoration lol

ok ok ok. i've just been parts buying....

purchased engine bay fender sound material from christoph.

purchased firewall and pedal box insulation from coupe king

front and rear subframe hardware kits, subframe rubber bushings and front and rear wheel bearings from stefan (along with all the seals)

e12 intake manifold and other parts relating to the FI conversion from markos

currently car is getting compression and leakdown tested. fingers crossed ;)

i've been driving it a decent amount. clutch is a bit high, feels like the accelerator pedal sticks a lil bit but no biggie. drove from palo alto to sonoma raceway (with a pit stop to drop off some cookies for a friend haha) and it was around 8 gallons. so getting around 19 mpg, mostly freeway driving.

when accelerating, especially in 1st or 2nd gear the fan could be hitting the radiator still.... the sound is coming somewhere in the front of the car. hopefully coupeking's engine mount retainer plate will resolve this in the future.

got it! i would think the fan would hit the radiator on braking vs acceleration. maybe its something else.
