Fenders, lights and one grill. I'd like to see it with original silver grills, but not sure I can do that work.

Looking like a 2800, just place the hood to see if I had the fenders right. There’s not a lot of wiggle room in the fender department so I had my fingers crossed compared gaps on the hood to what I purchased the car and all those they look large, that’s how they were. Have to check the measurements not much I can do.
Still has the same little bit to it on the passenger side where the hood lip meets the fender. I was like that when I got it. Since the body shop didn’t assemble the car, they weren’t able to address. Shouldn’t be too difficult when I get it back to the shop.
Bamboo carpet and Gobi-tan vinyl upholstery on order as well as side panels in Gobi and extra for the fiddly bits, and, of course, the biggie, the motor.
Everything Takes gobs of time. 2 1/2 hours just to repair the two broken solder points on the front center grill. Looks good and you go to put it on and whoa, it’s broken. Four points are soldered. Two broken. How this happens is a mystery but in 50 years anything is possible. Just surprising that previous owners didn’t take the time or didn’t have the know how to fix it correctly. Really not difficult, but definitely time consuming.
Passenger side grill is a little wonky, it’s the original, the other I ordered from eBay, which is in much better shape.
for some reason mine we’re warped.
Basically ecstatic that the hood and fenders Fairly lineup.
Anyone see something I am missing. Feel free to chime in. The forum has been great, and I personally thank Stevehose for assisting with a little beam relay. Everything I looked at didn’t come close to matching what I have.

Putting on the kidney Grill, I just did not like the way it came back from the chrome polisher. Took a closer look at it and decided to disassemble, file out all the little road rash, well most of it, and reassemble. it came out very nice, but be aware, this piece is really thin.

Two days to attach all of the rocker trim, top and bottom. Bottom pieces were new and went on fairly easy. Had to make the rubber molding for the uppers. on one side I used the rubber trim against the car and abutting the lower rocker piece. On the other side, I ran out and did not use any on the lower side above in the rocker piece. It fits very snuggly against the lower piece and I like the way it looks. it’s very low profile even with the rubber molding on. They kind of snug together to make one piece.
Also installed and reinstalled front and rear fender chrome, as it blends with the rocker molding pieces. fortunately had the front rubber molding, but had to make the rear. The front is old, but was serviceable . Wish I had more of that!

One snap installed. Fairly easy but had to dig to find the screw holes. Went from under the car but the front post holes for the rear carpet are on the raised portion.
I have all the post, but only three retainers.

question - shouldn't the retainers be mounted the other way? i thought only the fine ring showed on top of the carpet ... so you don't need a hole through the carpet

Possibly, but then how do you attach the ring to the carpet? I started under the seat for just this reason as I wasn’t certain how these went on

There are actually for(4) pieces. The stud which screws into the body. The retaining ring which is shown in my picture.
A lock ring, and a piece attaches to the retaining ring, and holds the lock ring.

I certainly appreciate your input as otherwise I would not have looked further into the install. But looking at the picture, I found, I’ve clearly done it incorrectly. I will have to look at it more closely to see if I can accomplish what the picture shows. What I did works, but clearly was not with the Deutch intended. Thank you.

I have to locate five more rings, or maybe go aftermarket. United upholstery sells some thing but not quite clear what it is. Their site leaves a lot to be desired.
