Black plates were issued until 1969 and no later. How did this 1971 get black Ca. plates?

painted black? i'm in georgia and i knew that was wrong, it should have been blue plates

Since the car doesn't have the old plates I think seller is looking at pink slip and sees 123ABC and thinks they would be black, in reality they are blue. If he doesn't have the plates you can't reregister them back on the car anyway.

Track car? From the description of the body it would probably fold in half at the first hairpin turn!

The wiper wind deflector is on the wrong side.
