Saw your car in the flesh over at the boys yesterday, sure makes a lot of sense to dip it so you can see what lies beneath. Are you going to box the frame to the firewall?

I have a whole lot of chassis strengthening to do, getting the body solid is the priority right now.

Both front floors roughed in, I want to spot weld everything as it originally was where possible so it looks factory, the sequence of assembly is important. Once the lower left firewall arrives I can get that in and then the floor, inner sill, middle sill, A post repair then outer sill, then over to the other side! The W&N floor panels have the detail right in the middle, not sure why they didn't just offset it? Had to gas weld the piece I cut off to make sure I got all the car cancer out, the right side was better so the piece was sufficient.

My wood was seriously rooted, infact, I thought it was beyond repair, I sent it off to bela22 and got it back today in beautiful French Walnut! It looks stunning.

Left side A post base and sills fitted, had to replace the left bulkhead also, inner fender test fitted before welding everyting up. Left front floor finished also.
The otherside is a bit worse so stated unpicking that. Welding is not much fun when it's 40 Degrees C!

While you have the sills and floors removed, how are you supporting the chassis to keep it straight and stop it from flexing in the middle ?
Braces between A pillars, B pillars, door openings, front shock mounts and a large 50mm box between front & rear which is connected to the subframe mounts.
Always good to check the attached dimensions before you start.

Looks great. I have badly damaged woodwork and was looking at getting it done in Melbourne by Jaguar specialist who has done a few E9's. Is bela22 overseas?

Pretty much finished the sills, big job! Before I weld up the outer sills thought I would do a complete test fit to make sure doors and bonnet fit after such major surgery! With a bit of fine tuning later, I'm pretty sure the gaps will be perfect, so now I can get on with welding in the skirts, supports and get the nose on.

Spot welded in the outer sill, I'll add some plug welds for added strength, also need to plug weld intermediate sill bottom to outer sill, but that's a job for the rottisorie

Progress slowed down for a knee op, back into it and making some progress, rear quarters need some love both sides, bottom front and rear sections, wheel wells needed minor repairs. Quarters ready to go back after I have reskinned the doors.
