3.2L-Powered 1972 BMW 3.0CS 5-Speed BaT (NMNA)

Fair share of personal taste modification on this one, curious to see how it ends.

Triple webers sound amazing
"Personal taste modification" is a nice way of putting it. The embroidered, two-tone leather upholstery looks like it would go better in a Chevy of some sort, but hey - it's his money and his car. Also, the thing about seat upholstery is hopefully you'll hardly ever see it because you're too busy driving around listening to the carbs sing.

i like ( of course) the color.... but again i have the feeling that Verona is a "sports" color, not that well suited for a oem "GT" look E9.... as with bumpers. To much chrome for red.
Red needs black details , spoilers front & rear , making it more a "sports" car in a "sports" color :)

Don't care for the interior or wheels, but the underside (from little pictures there are) looks pretty dang good!

Verona a great color for the E9, but for some reason, doesn't garner the big bux like Fjord, Taiga, Turkis, or even Polaris!

Given where my 3.5L topped out on BaT back in August, I'll be curious what the market communicates on this one...comparable in a few ways (upholstery aside).

5 hours to go and not much action yet. I'm not a very careful observer of BAT auctions so I don't know if this is normal behavior or not. Curious to see where it ends up.

i think its a terrible idea to have repainted an original ceylon to verona. i like verona, but ceylon is so rare and cool. okay, maybe that's just me ... i will tell you that if i was ordering a coupe new off of a color chart, i probably wouldn't have picked ceylon ... but after seeing one in person ... i love it. if i was painting a coupe a different color than original, for me it would be ceylon, granatrot, turkis, inka as my first 4 choices, then riviera, baikal, atlantik / nacht or fjord.

oh yeah, i am repainting my coupe a non-original color ... ceylon (originally baikal)

I bought my first 2002 in 1985. It was a 1971 and painted red. I was really bummed when I found that the car had originally been painted inka. I think many of these cars were painted "more normal" colors during their lives when they were more in the realm of used cars and not in the land of collectibles. "Nobody is going to buy a little, funny looking, 14 year old car that's orange," was probably the general line of thinking in the mid-80s.

haven't looked closely at this coupe either ... but surprised that its only at 37k w/ 1.5 hours to go.

"ATX-Z8" posted his collection of BMW's in his many comments about this and all of the other E9's on BaT. He owns a coupe. Does anyone know if he is a Forum member?
