Took a quick look through the pictures, ant it appears to be a nicely updated e9. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-bmw-3-0cs-33/
"Personal taste modification" is a nice way of putting it. The embroidered, two-tone leather upholstery looks like it would go better in a Chevy of some sort, but hey - it's his money and his car. Also, the thing about seat upholstery is hopefully you'll hardly ever see it because you're too busy driving around listening to the carbs sing.Fair share of personal taste modification on this one, curious to see how it ends.
Triple webers sound amazing
I bought my first 2002 in 1985. It was a 1971 and painted red. I was really bummed when I found that the car had originally been painted inka. I think many of these cars were painted "more normal" colors during their lives when they were more in the realm of used cars and not in the land of collectibles. "Nobody is going to buy a little, funny looking, 14 year old car that's orange," was probably the general line of thinking in the mid-80s.i think its a terrible idea to have repainted an original ceylon to verona.
