I also used the shift rod Carl recommended, but if I looking at this now, I would strongly consider the aftermarket version Stevehose used.

Appreciate the explanation. Starting to get my head around all this now.

you mentioned the one steve recommended. I can’t find it in this thread...do you remember which it was or have a link.

the shift rod they are talking about is UUC double shear selector rod
I had some trouble with this, it has been a while, if I remember the one Steve used was discontinued
I ordered what I thought was the right length but it had a bend (designed in)
Ones with a bend won't work
Sorry, I don't remember the length I ended up with but I think it will work
I found I could only use the bronze bushing on one end
The hole in the UUC is the same on both ends but the thing it fits around, the transmission on one end and the stick on the other, one wouldn't fit, I think the stick
