72 CSL on Bat...

Surely no big deal but the fender chrome arches are not original, after market types.

I’m surprised this car isn’t getting much reaction. I’m intrigued so let me stir the pot. I’ve never seen a toolkit quite like this one.

Price will probably reflect it, which is a good thing, otherwise all CSL would only be available to people with a wallet > 200K.
Regardless of all attention points below; I'd swap my soon to be finished grade 1 CS without a moments notice and just drive and enjoy it as is, and tinker along the way...

new rubbers perhaps for the rear windshield....

cracked rubber lip (meaning that it is likely an original rubber version, and not Repro)

missing the rubber part in the dooropening (L and R). And sagging fuse box lid. and horizontal rubber missing on dash rail

fuse label in glovebox, never seen that before (?):

missign front left and right jack point, and a screw in the top left corner of the sill cover which doesn't belong there, and just invites rust....

Rudimentary welded fender, with iffy ID plate:

repainted once with the cabel harness (wiring loom) still in place:

Nevertheless, I'd be proud of owning it would I'd be lucky enough!

I suspect the more you dig, the more you'd find wrong with this one - looks like its been sat in a collection for 15 years, and on the back of rising prices has been quickly recommissioned to move it on. IMHO its value is more towards the "project" end of the market - what that? maybe £60-70k as a RHD car in the UK?

When looking over the glove box pics I stared with confusion for a good two minutes. Why is the defrost duct to the right of the glovebox?

Then I remembered it is a RHD car. :D I suspect that the fuse label is in the glovebox because fuse box is immediately adjacent.

I can't get past the body lines. The ridge on the doors is too sharp and the ridges on the fender and quarters are not straight and/or not consistent. Not a huge deal but always throws a red flag for quality of body work.

It’s funny because when I read Erik’s message I thought he was joking and I thought to myself where else would it be! :)

Wow. The RHD CSL auction is falling apart - too many incorrect comments from the peanut gallery.

EDIT: Sorry, somewhat off topic. But the very thing we're trying to avoid.
The seller says it has met reserve, so it has bid to the level that he feels the car is worth (or at least the level he is satisfied with)

Does BAT do follow-up on sales to ensure the buyer is content and the description was accurate? This way, sellers can get ratings similar to Ebay. I realize this could cut into sales and profit but it is the right thing to do....if you cared about customer service.
BaT tries very hard (maybe too hard?) to make the sale between the seller and buyer. They want a (long) arms length relationship with the transaction. What you suggest is the right thing to do, but it probably puts them too close to the transaction for comfort.

I reckon that’s near enough £75k GBP - I imagine it would have made more if LHD with it being across the pond, but that seems plenty given the state it was in, especially if you are going to start paying someone to put it right for you.
