My recently rebuilt alternator went the way of the dodo and I decided to go the economical AC Delco route which some of you recommended. I just installed it today, and hey... it works! I bought one from RockAuto that links to a 1990 Chevy Beretta (side note, I once had a girlfriend who had this car, that's a whole other off topic post).
Thanks to everyone, especially @Mike Goble ; I think it was your post that originally hipped me to the idea. Below is what I bought in case anyone else is looking to do this at some point.
