I'd be afraid to drive it.
Did I mention I'm a tough negotiator? I also got an extra set of rims with snow tires and a color-matched Turkis trailer hitch!

Seriously, The dealer did throw in an extra set of alloy rims so I can mount the 9" chrome hubs ( I love that look, but I'll see).

Thanks guys! I've been active on the FAQ site as "Swiss 2002Tii" for a couple of years, and lurking here for the past eight months or so. Kept pinching myself to convince myself a life-long dream was coming true!

I have a question:

I have read threads about heat in the cabin, and in some cases fumes getting in through the front heater box section. This car has a dressing on the front of that section, but it's not the stock rubber that would seal off fumes and heat from the engine:

I see that the beautiful Granatrot 3.5CSi that just sold has it:

I don't find it in the OEM or W&N sites. I would like to add it to my "punch list".

Do you know if this is still available?

Tom

Here they are at W/N.
Spectacular car. You sure have lived up to the Swiss standard :)

Compliments on such a beautiful car. I didn’t find the part on W/N too easily either.

Keep the pictures coming......

A Petri steering wheel would definately be some icing on the cake, IMHO

The one above is a 40cm Petri, the size Bmw offered as a sports wheel option for the E9.
Although the preferred size for the most part is the 38cm Petri. That was offered only of the Csl and then in leather. You might even find one in Swiss ;)
The 38cm wheel with foam like the 40cm are constantly offered for sale on most platforms so it won’t be long before you find one, if you so choose.
Here’s a few pics to show you just how cool they look in an E9. Although all the ones in the pics are 38cm Csl wheels, the hardest ones to find.
The Petri wheels are very susceptible to surface imperfections, so be on the look out for one like the earlier 40cm wheel.
Enjoy!

Whoa! Holey Moley, an Alpina Batmobile!
Beautiful color! It seems that car makers are finally coming out of a three-decade deep sleep of black, blue, gray, and white and are now offering similar colors again.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy...
Had my first "Final" inspection visit today...
I have to say, my camera seems to struggle to capture the actual color of this Turkis. I think these two photos actually get closest:

Most other photos have more of a blue tinge. In this photo, you can see the transition from Turkis to "Teal":

Is that the Wiper relay missing? Wipers were not working (washer/wiper was working)

I suggest taping or heat shrink tubing the wires to the 123ignition distributor to keep in line with the beauty of the rest of the engine compartment.

Interior:
Bulent replaced the matte Nardi with a high-polish Nardi wheel, and I like it much better:

The door panels are slightly modified. The original interior was pretty ugly (in my view(, with kinda beige (worn) velour seats and gray door panels. The dealer had new door cards made and used original black uppers, but had to make the lower section with replacement leather, so the chrome strip distance is slightly different. The camera flash makes the difference much more apparent than it is to the eye.

They make their own carpets (we've been climbing in and out, so a little scrufty):

Can someone tell me, are there covers that go over these shock mounts?
IMG_2736.JPG
IMG_2737.JPG

I can see from the above photos that there are holes for speakers in the hat shelf, but I don't think I want to put holes in the nice, new shelf. I saw a clever solution where somebody put speaker boxes under the front seats...

Yes, there are shock mount covers. Check your fuses, I’ve never seen some of those colors and some look like amps may be too high.

Wiper relay is under the dash, that slot should be the horn relay and next to it is high beam relay. Originals were round cans.
Thanks Chris, I realize those are not original, will have to search for original "cans". Might just be a loose relay under the dash. I will be going for an extended drive tomorrow, will check it out.
Horn works, as do high beams. That's a follow-up question/project: I added a relay circuit to remove the high-current path from the switch on my Tii. Do I need to do the same on the E9?

Will do Steve; I have HQ harness tape for the purpose.
I've noticed that many of the D-Jet rubber boots are cracked; I know from my MBZ 4.5 that these plugs cannot be unpinned. They have to be cut off and replaced in order to re-do the rubbers. Not getting a lot of love on that as an add-on project!
