Well, I've given that very thing a lot of thought as I contemplate the rust repair and repaint of my US model 2800CS. Those side markers weren't originally designed by the factory for our cars but mandated by US Law to improve safety not only for the owner and passengers but for other cars on the road. Are they a bit kludgy and look out of place? Yes, yes they are and they do. Do they actually improve the safety of the vehicle? I'd say arguably, yes. Were they installed by the factory making US destination cars unique? Yes, they were.Be sure to weld up the holes left from the USA side markers.
Don't know why a lot of restored E9s chose to keep those ugly things.
Rob, This is a common response from you but owners need to make that decision for themselves, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.Be sure to weld up the holes left from the USA side markers.

So I guess folks should leave their diving board bumpers on too?
Yes, of course, it’s up to them not us.So I guess folks should leave their diving board bumpers on too?
Baby blue might be acceptable... ;-)I think with Pink exterior you would definitely want a white interior…
Get one of those hidden antennas, bury it under the front dash. Works well.
