Block and prime this week, really moving closer to final respray. Time for this to cure and another once over before color. The progression is unbelievable, loving the work from Chris and his team and the extra effort going into the car.

Been a huge few weeks by the lads at ck with final prep completed and color laid down. Really happy with how the fjord blue has come up. Hanging panels back on then off for mechanical overhaul in the next few weeks.

Very, very nice.

Interesting to see how Fjord looks so different from picture to picture; angles, lighting; it all affects how blue or grey it looks.
That’s right Erik- the spray booth lights really highlight the grey, but under normal lighting more blue comes through. Such an interesting color.

Definitely due for an update on the project- plenty happening since the last post, couple of photos out in the sun and a lot of new or refurbished parts ready to start the re-assembly

So much more work into the car and it’s finally running again- plenty of assembly to go but edging closer daily.

Little bit going on with the rebuild. The engine bay and boot have some color, hard to tell in the photos but really happy with the result
Hi Simon I was watching your rebuild the progression is great. Just curious as to how its all going. Iam thinking of buying an E9 and really found your threads inspiring. Please let us know how its going if you have more photos it wouls be super to see. Take care. Mars

Hi Mars- I see you are in Sydney- I’ll send you a PM. Will be more pics in the next few weeks but hope to be on the road by Xmas

Well I last drove this car in January 2022. Nearly three years later she’s back on the road for her first post restoration drive. Still some finishing touches to go (sill covers, carpets, grille blackouts, wheel refurbishment and some other bits and pieces) but but the smile on my face driving this car again will last for weeks.

Countless days and nights of research and advice from too many people to mention, ups and downs and meeting some incredible tradesmen and enthusiasts along the way. Couldn’t be happier with the result so far, she will be good to go for the next 50 years.
