Lives in the engine bay. Bolts to the block and the large hole has wiring pass through it. There are a couple of them.

Thanks for the quick response, its not the one for the dip stick tube, I was able to I.D that one, it has a smaller hole. This one goes on the block for sure, does not show up on the WN book or the blue shop manuals.
I think i had that one mounted on the side wall of getrag 265/6 gearbox (outside one of 4x bolts that getrag is mounted to bellhousing).
So i guess it might be support mount for speedo cable or reverse switch cable.
Is your car an automatic? The tranmission coolant hose is attached to the block by something that I belive, looks like this. The prongs wrap around a plastic block. This holds the hose as it runs to the radiator.
My car is a 4 speed. I will put the car on a lift tomorrow and look at the bell housing, it probably holds the speedo cable or reverse lights. Next time I’ll photograph before disassembly.
