I'm surprised Jay had a 5 week turn around time, he is usually much faster.
Are you getting the rebuild kit from Jay?
How exactly can you tell if the thing is clogged, having not had the chance to drive an E9 yet but assume braking is similar to my Bavaria...............unless both are clogged!.

I’ll check where the kit is coming from. It might be Jay...or somewhere else my mechanic has found. I’ll let you know.

My mechanic dismantled it and it was literally full of crud.
Regulator has been cleaned out, honed out and painted.

Carl Nelson, La Jolla Independent rebuilds these. Reach out to him and he will send you a rebuilt unit. You will have to send him your core. Not cheap.
thanks but I’m in the UK. Needed a quick turnaround time so my mechanic is rebuilding. Rebuild kit arrived from the US yesterday so should be ok.
From where in the US, Jay??? or other source??
I honestly don’t remember. My mechanic sourced it. It was the only place he could find so maybe Jay.
Apparently the rebuild kit came from a Porsche dealer in Utah call PMB.
Seems the regulator is the same on old Porsche’s perhaps.
either way I trust my mechanic to have found the right parts. If he hasn’t then I’ll contact Jay.

Yep apparently the regulator is the same on the Porsche 914 and VW 411/412
