Copart BMW finds...

Dan, please remind us again how a car like this ends up in a Copart auction. This seems like an undamaged, clean titled coupe.
It's an offsite auction and they're probably trying to reach an international audience since it's easier to export. Only a portion of the auctions are insurance salvage.

Nice links...

E30 is in rare version.
Touring is uber rare for US as they have never been imported to US.
This model has so called NIVO - hydraulic rear suspension to keel the level once being loaded (as for some E34 for example). Only installed in 320i/325i and 324td tourings.

You can tell by the shape of the power steering bottle. Nivo models share the same power steering pump for operation of two hydraulic systems.

of course that one cannot be "regulated" to be horizontal by itself... need more powerful hydraulic arm to move it back. ;-)

Or just a crusher which would be a loss.

Probably just a part donor. :/

that would be correct Chris ... from the state of the car, thats about all you will get - the core big pieces with unknown condition. at 2500 bucks it would be worth a chance

FWIW- I've bought plenty of seized engines, 250,00 mile trannies and open 3.07 diffs.

You bet and lose and you bet and win. Roll of the dice.

That car comes with tow fee, a disassemble cost and another tow fee.

$4000.00 dollar gamble is what you are actually looking at.

My last 3 m90 engines needed new pistons and sleeves. Total cost one core car - $6000.00

its has early 2800cs seats ... would have been built around May 1970, which seems like it would have had the newer seats.
another car added to the 2800cs ancestry project!

But current bid is high ... probably due to engine (donor).
Current bid is $0. $5500 is the buy-it-now price but this is a clean title car so the seller can ask whatever they want. They can also bid it up so you have know how much you want to bid beforehand.

Thanks. Currently I see also $0 (no bids).
