Hence why i said easily - the cost would surely be prohibitive versus sourcing a new one or a used one and restoring it.

If Ron were doing a

$100k plus CSL, I think there'd be some value in fixing the original bonnet over replacing it with a new part. Well, that's my approach to vintage cars....

Thats what i mean - fix up an original BMW part rather than have someone try and recreate it at great expense and it wouldn't be original.

you're right

I see your point, and agree. And it's these same panel beaters who could fix a damaged bonnet without loads of filler.
