Did the E9 race cars group 2 etc delete the belt line trim?
Any pics of street e9's with a trim delete?

Not deleted, but here's black (known as shadowline in modern BMW terms) belt trim:

There was a trim delete coupe at the Brisbane Marina show on May 2, 2015. I didn't look at it very closely. I did take a pic of it and it was next to a very nice Baur Targa 2002, in that pic you can see the trim and door handles were deleted.

Have seen th 02 and the sienna is a 2800cs I think. Guy flushed out the front turns too. Not sure I like it with the trim delete. I like the modernness of it given what I suspect was the concept of his build but seems to loose part of the iconic nature of the design. Interesting and like see see different concepts.

Yes thanks love that pic...don't like the blacked out "shadow line"...aka belt line trim.

Do you think those are 15's on there?

I could never...

The partially de-chromed brown coupe http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/revolution-no-e9-cole-fosters-bmw-2800cs
belongs to Cole Foster, the son of the legendary funny car racer & builder Pat Foster. The removed moldings are actually body side moldings but our coupes also have belt line moldings, they are the moldings at the bottom of the windows. Search “belt moldings” and also “body side moldings” on Google if you might doubt me ;). ~ John Buchtenkirch

Great ...thanks for the clarification and the pics

Kinda like it!

It makes the E9 look popular enough to have a "kit car" made in it's image. Doesn't look bad, just weird.

found this one....

Don't care for the Boy Racer wheels and mirrors.
