Don't know what to call this phenomenon.

In my garage there is a receptacle that I call "the always full bin". It's a plastic bin of approximately 40 lts capacity. ( You Americans with your go- it -alone measurement system will have to work that out. )
The thing is, this bin is always full. As soon as I empty it it immediately fills up. And weirdly, it seems to be able to accept more and more junk even when full. I've tried introducing smaller bins thinking they would instil the discipline of more frequent emptying, larger bins thinking they wouldn't fill immediately but to no avail. They are still ALWAYS FULL.

Is it just me?

i would like to help you, but,....yes, it is only you
some people call it poltergeist, others, god, or angels...
a pity that your always-full bin does not “produce” gold, or drinking water,...
;-)

I have something like that item in my laundry room.
It’s where empty wine bottles go and I keep it full all the time!

Sounds like the upstairs of my garage, full of other people's stuff.

I have 4 2-liter boxes with assorted nuts, bolts screws and hardware. I call them "thousand year boxes" because that's how long it will take to use all the stuff.

If I think of the bin in terms of conservation of energy / matter then the bin is the corollary of my wallet.

you guys have something to learn about NOLA ... New Orleans ranges from 6' below to 6' above sea level ... not including the levees. what i know is that Steve lives in an area of the highest elevation in the city. so everybody else will flood in a big rain ... but not that area

my bins are on rollers. The earthquakes are pretty minor here. :D

She looks ok from that angle. Why haven't you got it running and having some fun with it?

It does run. I do drive it sometimes but all of the ancillary stuff isn’t fit for the road. I could fix all of that stuff but why bother when it needs floors and rockers. Disassembly starts next month. Ive
got two big items to pack and ship first.

Impressively organized & minimalist. The wall-mounted pencil sharpener sitting there like it’s 1985 kind of blows my mind.

Haha! I mounted that for my children. They have to walk to the garage to sharpen their pencils. No electric unit in this house. My son also has a *new record player for 45's. I'm an old soul. I sold about 2,200 lbs of parts off my CSI, which I obviously won't do with the project car. I presume that when I take this one apart I'm going to need another 8 or so bins.
