FWIW I found these in my 1/72 Bav...
They appear to have a 1976 date code.

Excellent. Would you mind measuring the size of the gland nut and also the length of the body of the shock absorber please?FWIW I found these in my 1/72 Bav...

Yes this is something I’ve thought about and goes back to the question that I asked right at the start of this thread; has anybody fitted these shock absorbers to an E3?Is there a potential problem in using one for an M-series car which would be heavier up front and also by default, have a firmer ride?
Yes, the centre one (48mm) is the one!
Thanks Chris, sorry to be needy, but which Bilstein, if any will fit this strut? Ireland has some but for 36mm tube.You have an e3 50mm strut.
Check parts for saleHello all on this thread. I have read this thread at least 5 times, finally got my strut nut off(wasted 2 hours then got it in 10 seconds with impact gun).
I am still confused as to what I have.
1971 2800 e3.
Found a KYB made in Japan
ID of strut tube is 48.55mm;
length of shock, floor to top lip is 42.8 cm or close to.
What do I have and, more importantly, what can I replace with? Hoping to put in Bilstein HD's.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
No, I haven't.If you're in the UK did you try Munich Legends?
