E3's for sale in Southern California

Down near San Diego there's a '72 Bavaria for sale. I recall seeing this vehicle cross-listed on Autotrader Classic:

Here's a new link on CL:

Here's a 1972 E3 on the East Coast I found during a CL search:

There are several Bavaria's for sale on eBay:

These two are at Beverly Hills Car Club. I personally looked at the green '72. The price has dropped from about $12k.
Green '72:

White '73:

Two other vehicles appear to be located in the Northeast and seem to have pretty extensive rust. They've been up for sale for at least 6 months.

These two have recently appeared in my eBay searches:
A '74 in West Virginia:

And a '73 in North Carolina:

Apparently, I am still on the Beverly Hills Car Club mailing list. They just sent me a link to this '72 BAV:

Update (5/14/2024): VIN #3131091. Car is originally from South Carolina.

I don’t even have to zoom in on that Sahara one to see the paint runs at the leading edge of the hood!

The low-quality paint job worries me less than the likelihood of low-quality bodywork underneath that paint. But n the plus side, the interior looks OK and someone put some $ into the EFI engine and 5-speed.

Sure? It looks as if there was an early valve cover under the L-Jet setup. I see no oil filler opening at its rear. Oil cap at the front means removing the air filter box every time you want to add oil. Looks most amateurish especially as late valve covers are easily available.

The car did not start as a collector's item and gets worse every time I look. Picture 14, left rear door: the sun shines through between the door and the beltline moulding.

And.. here's another '73 Bavaria that appeared on eBay (Massachusetts):

Looks like there's a $999 bid already.

Looks pretty solid for what they show and complete. Not bad in my book.

Here's '73 for sale in Denver:

Seller (university student) states it's a daily driver from Washington State.

Looks like an appealing driver. Interior is better than I was expecting based on the text; seats are good enough to leave as they are. Seems expensive by at least a few grand given the stated needs, particularly as an automatic.
