So, was reading another thread and thought this subject could be its own topic opposed to hijacking another so, here we go.
What are the actual weights of the various E9s?
Below is a list I started and would be interested in having other E9ers 'weigh in' ;-)
The road cars incarnations are of particular interest.
Did the later cars get heavier?
Are the Euros lighter than the US deliveries? (I am thinking so)
Weights based my Net research on old race cars sites and weighing the various parts as they were removed from my project.
'70 'loaded' early 2800cs = 3025lbs (R&T test drive article)
'70 Alpina 2800cs (SPA winner) = 2678lbs
'71 Alpina 2800cs (Niki Lauda's car) = 2711lbs
'72 Broadspeed CSL (early L racer) = 2425lbs
'73 (May) Alpina CSL = 2341lbs
'73 CSL Works =2383lbs
'71 early series 1 csl = 2700lbs?
’72 'City Pack' CSLs = 2950lbs?
'73 'loaded' US delivery CS '73 = 3200lbs? (noticed US cars have extra 'plates' in doors)
'73 'loaded' CSi = 3100lbs?
'74 Works CSL (Stuck's 4v car) = 2360lbs
'74 CSi Luigi car (SPA winner) = 2777lbs
'74 IMSA CSL (ie: TBL) = 2300lbs or less?
Input/corrections very appreciated. Again, I am guessing on the road cars here. It would be interesting for owners to chime in on their cars. Digital scales at your local dump/recycling plants are within 5-10lbs I believe. Take note at the scale if ya got junk in the car/trunk, driver in car (deduct your weight) and your fuel level.
I'd wager that weights will very quite a bit from owner mods and accessories (stereos, A/C, etc...)
Curious.....
