Am I likely to find a good used pair of rear window regulators with the sardine can motors? What should I expect to pay?
Thanks, Douglas
Thanks, Douglas
For my 73 3.0CS, the rear motors went kaput, so I started to find out what alternate window motors I could use. I purchased a set of regulators (toss) with motors (keep) out of an e28 but later found the motors out of several other marques fit as Bosch suppled them all. They are the same ones used in 911s with 8 gear teeth. I ordered these and will let the group know about the fit and quality...https://www.ebay.com/itm/Window-Regulator-Motor-Left-Front-For-PORSCHE-911-91162401441/401942513525?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D90073be7da6a417ab8bbb8a830bcf77f%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D303535198928%26itm%3D401942513525%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A9b3fa4ee-8d0e-11eb-b5dd-96abc4096005%7Cparentrq%3A67215fae1780aaf30ad8fbfaffd6b5f0%7Ciid%3A1Am I likely to find a good used pair of rear window regulators with the sardine can motors? Your late 73 has improved motors and the swap is easy. Replacing sardine cans takes a bit of modding and wiring change. I haven’t found the e28 motors to provide much if any improvement over the 73 motors. And e24 motors will not work, the part numbers have been superseded. RealOEM even shows this and implies that they work on e12 which still had sardine cans through 1981.My rear motors went kaput, so I started to find out what alternate window motors I could use. I made a mistake in my post. The regs and motors are out of an e28. Post updated. Thanks again for the info Chris!Your late 73 has improved motors and the swap is easy.
