For Sale: 2 red 9-blade fans

I have 2 nice red 9-blade fans for sale. If you want the period look for your upgrade these are it. Difficult to find not all busted up etc. These have no nicks or cracks but could use a little polishing on the visible side of the blades if it matters. The one on the right is a little cleaner, asking $90 shipped USA and the one on the right asking $70 shipped USA. Paypal. Thanks.

Yes it does, I pulled my hair out for 6 months trying to figure out why #1 barrel would flood as revs increased - turns out it was the asymmetrical 5 blade fan, discovered after blocking the airflow to it with a piece of cardboard after umpteen vibration reduction attempts. Solved with the 9 blade fan.

So funny, I had one for my engine and painted it red to match my block and ignition wires. Should have painted the black one and sold the red one. Always do it later. Just think the value will go up and it will be like a savings account.

For the water pump with bolt on fan clutch, spin on fan clutch won’t work I believe and you have to use black fan for those.

Chris--I have the 9 blades black fan. How do I tell if it is the spin-on or bolt -on variety? I like the look of the red fan.

A large single bolt on front of water pump, 32mm I think. I am checking with Terry Conners, he may have told me about possible mismatch.

Answer from Terry:...9 blade red fan will not bolt up to a spin on fan clutch..... only the fan clutch center bolt style with aluminum stand off will work

You can see on Steve's photo's that there are two sets of mounting holes (one larger & one narrower (for most E9)), so as for me it will work with later M30 clutches with bolt on the clutch.

Your pic with red fan is the earlier bolt on clutch with center mounting post which works. Are you agreeing that the newer ‘spin on’ clutch won’t work? It might also be a clearance issue with the radiator.
