is the CL77 a 305? that's what the shape of the gas tank looks like. when i was a kid, my next door neighbor had one. really nice looking bike! the MGB is a nice light car and with the V8 its gotta move quickly. so what did you do to the brakes or suspension? the B looks great, is that primrose yellow?
Yes. 305. It's the bike I lusted after when I was much younger.

The B is quick. Brakes are stock. It's a '77 which was originally big rubber bumpers and tall stance to meet DOT regs. They are easiest to convert to the V8 because BL changed the steering and engine compartment in 77 to house the V8 but only did it on a few GTs. Moss race springs in front and reversed eye leaf springs in back to lower it. If I wanted to make it handle I'd have to flare out the wheel wells and put much bigger tires on it. I didn't want to do that. I've driven this one to California and back also.

Thanks @Christoph. It was a fun project. And thank you for all your help with the restoration. I knew I could always count on you to answer any question I had. Thank the club for me also. You and the group have put together a wealth of information and history on the E3

Wow, that happened pretty fast. My auction on my e30 ended a couple of days before yours and the car is finally getting picked up tomorrow. It is going from one coast to the other, so that could have been part of the delay. Not a huge delay, it's been less than two weeks.

It was picked up Saturday AM. The buyer told me he would call for a pickup as soon as I told him the wire was in my account. The car sold Sunday. Monday was a holiday. The wire took place Tuesday AM. The pickup was 4 days later. Me thinks the buyer may be a good customer of the transport company.

Heading the Nashville! Hopefully that means it will be at next year's Vintage event so some of us here on the east coast can see it. You should come to the event next year Dick!

The driver looks like he's had plenty of experience loading cars. I'm sure glad I didn't have to back the car up that steep metal ramp especially with wet tires and all.

Ha! I thought the same thing about the driver! Not his first rodeo.
