I have a complete set of 16" CSL Style Wheels with the black exposed hub. I bought on ebay with the intent to use for a CS and never did. They are high quality are 16x7. I will have photos tomorrow with the backspacing. They are all new in box and have never been mounted. I believe I paid $3,000 for all four, so ideally I would like to get close to this. I am in Chicago. Please PM your email and I will send high quality photos.

I also have a set of Weber DGAV 32/36 Carbs for the 3.0 CS that are brand new in box as well.

If you had indeed paid $3000 for the set, then it is very unfortunate, but don't expect anyone to "pony up" for your mistake. A while back, I believe this same company or individual was selling these cheap 21 spoke knockoffs for about $800 and there were very few if any takers. Even at $800, these are grossly overpriced.

Right on the box “made in China”. You can’t tell me some importer isn’t making a small fortune on every set of these he sells when a skilled factory worker over there makes so little. Now these importers are wanting American prices for generally poorer quality Chinese imports when the Chinese imports killed our American businesses on price in the first place. Don’t get me started on “fake parts” :-x:roll:. ~ John Buchtenkirch

Arent you being a bit harsh on the poor guy. Yes they are reproductions made in China and that is why they are less than 1/3 the price of the original Alpina wheels. For some who want the look but can't afford the original it is the perfect alternative. Are you as critical of the "fake" sunvisor clips or interior wood pieces being reproduced?

The wheels are manufactured at an ISO certified facility and have a limited lifetime warranty noted on their website so I don't think they can be that horrible in quality. As for price, I would agree $300 per wheel is a bit steep for Chinese wheels but only 100 sets were produced so the per wheel cost is going to be much higher than wheels being produced in the thousands.

The Chinese can make any quality level you are willing to pay for these days. Sad that a Communist system co-opted Western manufacturing skills with our help IMHO. Good luck to the Seller.

If anyone wants to pay anywhere near his asking price, then "go for it".

BTW, I did not make any references to "made in China"

i am with bert !

if you look at the two threads as they were posted at the begining (they have been edited since) it seemed that exceptional parts are being offered at high prices, but references were made that the prices were right, and on the market

then it appeared that the real prices were 1/3 of the requested ammount

and again we are dealing with someone that has only written 5 or 6 posts, and those only for trying to sell parts on his only own benefit

i think that bert is right, is not a question on where the parts had been manufactured, we are not discussing that point, it is just that it seems a deliberate way of messing "original alpina price" with "replica parts", probably if he had posted the pics at the begining and asked for 1000$ noone had discussed that the deal could be reasonable, at least it would have been very clear from the begining

Some of you member are unbelievable. Clearly my knowledge of these parts is inferior to yours, but how about the benefit of the doubt. I should have made it clear after someone pointed out how much they can be had for that I am willing to sell the wheels for "best reasonable offer." I would assume this is south of the $1,200 they can be had for at the said website.

Shame on me for not doing more research. However, there are more polite ways to handle these situations.

probably you are right,...benefit of the doubt...
but now consider it this way you introduce yourself in a community that has been going on for a long time, building stories of good and bad moments, including some of the members around having bad experiences on replica parts being offered as original NOS / NIB parts
you write your first posts offering two of a list of well desired items in this community
and then...
...it is not the first time
apologies for the lack of politeness

If I offended anyone as in my perceived "harsh" words, then I apologize. Just don't want someone in our community or new to the E9 scene to make the same mistake as in paying $3K for some Alpina kopi rims.

Have a nice day everyone!

FRANKROTI clearly states in post #1 that they are "CSL STYLE" and "HIGH QUALITY", does not state anything about being NOS, and does not claim that they are O.E.M. . That to me says REPO. So who ever thought he was trying to scam someone should read it again .

agree with you
and then he clearly states 3000 usd for the wheels
:?::?::shock:

Post#1 does not have an asking price, he is looking for offers thats all. if he paid near $3000 for them,, shame on him. But you SHOULDNT assume he's trying to scam cause he has low post's either.

He has also been a member for 3yrs.
