Why not buy it as a collectors item? It has the proper date stamp + box with fitment list. Use it at shows & keep a spare in the trunk.

Its still a cool piece....

If I were selling it in the US, I would have a legal disclaimer to the effect "for decorative purposes only", for all of the above reasons.

I can think of one thing slightly more embarrassing than a non period correct fire extinguisher. A period correct one that does not work when you have a fire in period correct car . We don’t rely on period correct, date marked, tyres, we change them out approx every 10 years even if not worn. Even 10 should probably be more like 8.

De Q, do you mean even my new, 2020 powder extinguisher has only a 50% chance of working? If so I am going to carry both of them at all times.

If you plumb both extinguishers in series they will become 75% effective.
