FS: Reproduction Tail Light Lenses

Out of interest, does anyone have a method for removing the existing lenses out of the tail light frames without damaging them? They appear to be securely glued in.

the factory lenses are not glued in, the acrylic is heat folded over the light frame on the inside. this creates a water resistant enclosure. the folded lip can either be taken off with a 'hot knife' or with a dremel tool. i have always found the hot knife to work better, but you do have to be careful ... and go slow so the knife doesn't slip and hit the visible part of the lens. you have to cut off the lip flush with the frame so you can see the two pieces side by side ... and you have to go all the way around each of the 3 lenses in each frame.

patience is required

Yes, you are right! By the way, VIN is 2200661.
Stefano, my coupe VIN is 2200561! Only 10 cars apart. Mine was delivered in Germany and exported to USA a few years later. Now in Colorado under restoration.

I have one set left. Same price for now. The guy that makes them is in Australia and with the de minimus rule expired, I have no idea if he will make more, at what price, or if it will not be worth his time. DM me if interested.
