Hi,
upon my search for a shifter platform for the Getrag 265 I came across this spectacular short shifter contraption in an old Catawiki auction. Does anyone of the seasoned folks remember who made those? Looking at the construction I think it would be easily adaptable.

Wow that's a very simple solution, looks like it is for a race car due to not having the rubber shift tower mounts and thus some potential vibrations at the shift lever

Looks like both of those heim joints at the end of the top rod allow for sufficient movement to go through the gears.

I am with you on the Heim Joints though they would get squeaky.
Not sure if the pivot is fixed or solid.
Would think it would have to rotate also.

The go to shift platform for a 265 in E9 is the one used in the BMW Z3.

Edit: It is the Z3 shift lever arm.

Zoom in on the shifter as it enters the case, it doesn't appear to be connected to the external handmade bits. Either incomplete or a spoof?

Can I just cut a thread on it and use my standard E9 shift knob?
I didn't see that as possible so I bought a new push on knob that looked "original".
I believe @adawil2002 had a threaded portion from his original shifter welded on.
You will need to cut the top bushing and metal spacer with tin shears or similar and work it with the spring on the shifter. On the E24 and probably on the E9, I had to narrow the width of the shifter bottom bushing so it would fit the linkage.
