It looks like your 2000 would have the later e9 style covers though based on the shock turret pic. Do you have the early long neck diff?

The 2000 Parts Book I have shows different part numbers than e9. What gets me is that the cover looks much flatter and would be prone to even more damage than the e9 cover.

I couldn’t even find them on realoem. Instead I looked up the e9 version and saw no backward compatibility.

My recommendation to Ed is to go new. A better option for TX heat, plus neither mine nor the new ones will be “correct”. The only reason to go used is to match the original color and texture. That doesn’t matter if the e9 cover profile is different anyway.

Yes, my car has the long neck diff, 3.91 ratio, if I recall correctly.

How could it be original paint as well? Did these coupes have velour carpets?

Personally, it really bothers me when *any seller claims original paint on a 50+ year old vehicle. Especially when the seller is in the business/habbit of selling vintage cars. I think this car is absolutely stunning, and could care less if it was touched up or repainted over the years. What 50yo car hasn't been?

So with that said, my new year's resolution was to live a healthier lifestyle, not to ignore what appear to be false claims. The car is relatively flawless IMO, and I can only hope that one day my car looks half as good. I am officially disputing the seller's "original paint" claim.

@Ringmeister Last time I checked, my paint-meter doesn’t lie. I’m positive, been over the entire car. Except for the areas we had touched up, it is 3-4 on our meter.

I have never seen a polaris car with an engine bay that didn't turn into Bronzit Beige Metallic. The hood and firewall have aged, but the fender tops have not.

I see paint covered dents/pits. They almost look symmetrical. Is that OEM?

I agree, I’ve never seen a Polaris coupe that hasn’t turned gold at least in the engine bay and trunk edges.
