I was reading the blue book for a later BMW 6 series (matches the 5 speed) and realized that I don't have the Molykote long-term grease that is called for to lubricate the release bearing or the input / clutch disk splines.

I am not opposed to buying the Molykote ($$$), but is there a reasonable substitute that you can recommend? I think the key is that the grease needs to hold up under heat so that it wont migrate to the clutch disk.
