hi, taking advantage of what wally has just done in his beautiful coupe, and that he gently has shared the source of his carpet with us, i have received some samples of possible materials to use

i am attaching here some photos of my car with the original carpet, probably faded and dirty, and the samples against it

i would higly appreciate any help to choose the best one

my colour combo

the samples, here you can see all the samples that i have choosen in a first round, the second one (starting from the left) in this row is what wally used, it is a two tone blue

426. It looks pretty darn close to the existing carpeting (at least in your pics).

432 will clash with the navy BLUE door cards.

426 for me as well, but i do think long white shag pile may look very nice in your car Jesus :)
it would match the seats very nicely

Difficult to determine from pictures, but it appears that 432 is a little to bright for me, 426 is more subdued and OEM looking but unfortunately no blue in it at all. From this though I'd lean towards 426. Can you post closeups of those 2 samples against the existing carpet and door cards?

thank you bez, 432 is a very difficult match, because it is dark blue/light blue, and the original is dark violet/light grey, when compared with the tan leather seats 432 is definitively out

yes, i will do that,

funny that no one commented 472
it is one of my choices, in fact it is blue and grey, close to the original, but not long loop though
it matches very nicely with seat leather, and door cards
cons, it might not have the nice two tone differentiation,...

432

is what I have with blue cards and silver blue leather. Perhaps it's the fact that the photos shows the sample in a better/ brighter light than in practice on the floor where it will be a bit darker unless in direct sun. As far as wear, it has done well, which a lighter color may not as much.

Just my humble 2 cents.

deQ,

i just finished looking at the pics and was reading all of the comments. my pic would be 472. out of curiousity, did you get a sample of 487 - its not 2 toned, but its a nice looking color

What are the chances of sending them a sample and getting them to match it. Depending on how they get their carpet this may not be difficult but would require enough of a run to make it worth their while.

I'd be in for a direct match. Others?

+1 I have the same carpet as DeQ and if they made a run of the original combo I'd buy it.

i have requested some samples from KHM as well. my coupe is black, with a tan interior. which is kind of the same thing that deQ is faced with - a contrasting carpet / seat color. although, deQ's coupe is much more original looking than mine. my door panels are tan, although ... with a little searching, they could be black. but for me, matching the 2 color loop is not so important ... a cool combination with even the 2 tone velour could be great. but i'll post pics when i get the samples. in a separate thread, not to hijack this one.

deQ, if you could match the original exactly, that would be the right answer. the problem with the custom is that you have to get the fiber company to barber pole the yarns so that the 2 tone loop can be made - with quantity, shouldn't be a problem. but i like the 472 from the pics. color with the door panels looks like a nice match, perhaps a richer (but less original) look.

my 2 cents.

i have checked this with them just now, forget about it, sorry, you will need to order 10.000 meters and they do not even promise an exact match !

thanks scott, nice that you are in the same search, please do not hesitate to include your own samples into this thread, it will make the discussion richer !
