Hey Norcal guys, shouldnt we have a cruise too?

Cruise

I will be home and ready for an extended drive. Let me know if you want to use Healdsburg as a meeting spot. I live two blocks from the Plaza and there is usually a lot of open parking by my house. The Town of Sonoma is also a great place to meet and closer to points S and E.

Has anyone given any thought to possible routes and how long they will be?

Regards, Jon

I spoke with Sean @ http://www.caseymotorsports.com/Welcome.html
and he is open to having us stop by his place.

My thought is, If we get guys coming from the south bay we could meet up at this spot.

Not bad, but I was thinking it would be meeting in the Napa area, maybe some photo shoots in Napa valley a couple places and a drive in the hills toward Sonoma. We did something similar for a coupe cruise years back and it was just right, except for me breaking a sway bay bracket in the mountains...

Although, Barry's route would also work for me. I'm not too picky.

+1 for the Napa start point.

Start in Napa, then could head east out 121 to 128, then rip up north thru the Pope Valley to Middleton, then back south on 29 to Calistoga.

Google says about 100miles taking about 3hrs......or less ;-)

I'm ok with either as a start point. I ran Barry's proposed course a few weeks back and it's a fun one, but Napa is great as well.

Open to any starting point mentioned

But unfortunatley my Sundays are booked. Could do most any Saturday though. Would like to go to Sean's.

I'm hoping to join you guys too. It'll be quite a bit of seat time just getting to the starting point from Santa Cruz for me. Hope it works out so I can join.

I'm in as well with a some advanced notice. Either location as a start works for me. Are we talking this Sunday? or?

The plan is for Sunday April 1st. I'd vote for the route Barry suggested, starting at the Golden Gate Bridge or maybe something in the Mt. Diablo side if its more central to everyone.

I got my front brakes done and since I had so much taken apart I changed the springs too. Halfway through the rears now and have parts on order. Also should be able to get the front sway bar on and may run my 16" Alpinas if the clearance is okay in the front. If I have to roll the fenders to make them work I probably won't have them by the 1st.

Sunday Cops and Traffic

One issue to consider is that on Sat and Sun the CHP has a very heavy presence on Hwy 1 especially on Barry's route. The back side out of Napa has far fewer CHP but the S entrance to the valley can be very congested. The best way, usually, for N and S directions is the Silverado Trail instead of Hwy 29.

I actually have two coupes, myself and one other person who isn't on the board much.

Also, maybe an '02 unless the group is feeling exclusionary.

My son is bringing his E30. I suggest that the drive is open to all makes and models but they can't be part of the photo shoots. ;) Having a chase vehicle or two is never a bad idea.

I'm planning on driving over to Tahoe sometime over the Summer.
PS Thanks for the link!
