I’ve never seen such a tall shift lever as in the pic in post #2. It looks like an NK lever as they were used in the NK sedans as you sat higher in the seats.
I obtained a ZF 5 speed used in Alpina cars like mentioned in some of the ads. It was rebuilt at the factory then shipped over. Don installed it last winter in my taiga CSL. Very cool feel to the shifting, almost like a gated shifter. Anyway, it sits high like in these pics so I think these are cars w the Alpina ZF 5 speed. At least it’s a theory.
