Chris if you are going with 16's ... why not stay with alpinas. a price effective option is the type 5 wheel (36111092336) I think these were BBS RZ323 ... you could probably buy 5 of them for less than 1000 in great shape ... they are 233 each new from getbmwparts.com ... but you would also need the covers.

I want tire options and am leaning towards 16” BBS Mahles, don’t want too much bling.

Many e12/e28 owners will agree, the 15' wheel/tires give best handling. Jack Fahuna is a HUGE e28 fan and steered me away from upsizing the setup on my 535i.

YMMV... :)

Love the car, by the way. Merry Christmas! Very well bought.

Sometimes the car finds you. I love e12s. Reminds me of the 76 2002 I bought last year. Mint original with 76k miles working AC. It’s an automatic but originality was to good to pass up. Enjoy!0ADFCB49-13FA-4170-8BD8-79246D8790FD.jpeg

Awesome car Chris!! I've always liked that body style.

Normally, I would say there is always room for one more but... I can't believe I'm going to say this but we have too many BMWs right now - 6 of them. I just bought a euro 635 that I could not pass on. It has everything I could ask for; 1 owner, 84K origninal miles, rust free, dogleg, great color, factory recaros, perfect dash, rear headrests, BBS RSs, and headlight wipers that actually work! The paint is all original but is pretty weak. I made a deal with my wife that I would sell our M3 convertible if I bought the six, so that car is going on the market so her car can stay in the garage.

Congratulations Chris. We have a Euro 520 E12 in the family and I always liked the ride.
Almost bought one in San Diego for my son in college but somebody scared me with the US reactors fears...

Nice car Chris. When I was a youth, my friends Dad bought one of those to replace his Coupe that was destroyed in a winter crash by his wife driving a Saab 99 (also destroyed).

Chris, I heartily endorse the 16s and small bumper conversion. Then it will be perfect. You live in a wonderland of old cars, something us east coast schlubs can’t say.
