HOW OFTEN TO YOU SPOT ANOTHER E9 ON THE ROAD?

I live in the Napa Valley where there are at least 3 coupes that I know of and one or two that must be hiding. It is always a peasant surprise to see one on the road. BTW I was in SF on Tuesday both in SOMA and on 101N to Santa Rosa. If you saw a Fjord with a lowered stance that was me.

coupe siting...

In western NC, probably one on I-40 about three years ago...Except the "twilight zone" when I head to Vintage at the Vineyards around Memorial Day, and then it gets to be fun. I'm about an hour and a half west of the Winston Salem area, and the entire trip is interlaced with many "odd" rear-view mirror sitings (that are appearing larger by the second..) of a string of 02's, a coupe here and there, and other Munich fun stuff. Its a little surreal...and then you pass "regular" cars and trucks and they're all grins as well....and you remember you are one of those lucky few...I'm sure you folks near Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio, the Glen, etc have the same once a year twilight zone...Dave V. in NC

Watch out for sharks

I saw one this Saturday driving (cruising) along Soundview Ave in Westport, Ct, while we were sitting on the beach. I live here and haven't seen this particular coupe before, it was a slate blue. My two children saw it right away, and said, "daddy there's your car! Mine is Fjord blue, but the kids got excited because you don't seem them that often.

I saw a white 2800 in downtown Martinez about 2 weeks ago. Very nice car.

I'm in the Martinez CA area if you ever see a faded blue 3.0cs that's me. :-D

saw one YESTERDAY parked on a residential street in santa monica. all badging was removed, so i don't know if it was a 3.0 or 2800. plenty of rust, though, so we know for sure it's a genuine E9.

Coupe Spotting

I'm in North Carolina, there are several coupes in the Raleigh Durham area but it is rare to see one in the wild.

Here in Bucks County, PA I will see one or two a year that are strangers. Fortunate to have a buddy just across the Delaware R. in NJ with one. And we share a Barn Find we have been selling off piece by piece.

There is a CSL in the area but have not seen since it was in the restoration shop 15 years ago. Belongs to a friend of a friend.

But I am fortunate that I can count 11 coupe owners in a 90 mile radius I have some some contact with. And four or five us gather at two local car shows.

We are a rare breed of BMW.

here in Alabama, home of the Crimson Tide, I cannot hide! never have seen one except the one I bought. If you are up to mischief, better leave the E9 at home.

Every day

I try to look as I do pass Carl Nelson shop LaJolla Independant. As far as seeing one while driving mine never. I saw one the other day on SR 79 going north bound toward Hemet, Ca
San Diego has there fair share of coupes but havent seen that many driving..

Thanks Daniel

Have not spotted a single coupe on the road here in the San Francisco Bay Area for about a year now. Kind of a strange anomaly since this area is probably considered as the coupe kingdom of the world.

E9 Sighting

My family and I were returning to Atlanta from a wedding in FL this past Sunday night. It was about 10:30 p.m. when my daughter-in-law pointed out "an old BMW" ahead of us on I85 just north of downtown Atlanta. It was a red E9. That is the first one I have seen (other than my CSL) on the road in very long time. It had a GA historic car tag on it.
