I have a 72 e9 that I have dreamed of restoring for years. I really wish I could do that but I may not have the time and money that it requires, sadly. So I ponder what is the best way to sell it and the best forum.
The car is not running due to an engine problem, which can of course be fixed but it can't be driven anywhere presently. The body has some rust on the front pillar area, not easy but could be repaired for a price. And the interior needs work. Is it better to sell it intact or part it out? What method brings the highest dollar. And perhaps parting out, which effectively kills my car from ever seeing the road again, is alot of hassle with prices, negotiations and shipping. I wonder what is the total of her parts worth?
Else, how to get a good price for it's present condition. Good price doesn't mean a sky high price but it has to be reasonable to me and not preclude someone from their project. And where is the best site? Is a car club forum best where there are passionate car owners or the crazy ebay bid against others site?
I hope you will share some of your experience with me.
