I drive it on and off during the summer, but recently we had a big, quick downpour and a stream of water ran down the hill where the car was parked. After it stopped raining, I started the car, but the car wouldn't get out of the hole that the flood created. I called the local tow guy, who carefully pulled the car out and moved it to a safer spot. A few days later when I tried to start the car, the two idiot lights came but then nothing. Not even a clunk or click. I doubt anything got wet, since the water was only a couple inches deep. The battery is almost new and the ignition switch was replaced several years ago.

I opened the hood and pulled the air cleaner assembly to look at the starter and solenoid. All I could see was a dangling female spade connector (red/black) and a male spade at six o'clock on the solenoid (see attached photo).

If that's the issue, I'll have at it, but it's in a tight space as you all know, so I may not be able to get it connected. I have the 2 volume BMW OEM hardcopy shop manual.
