I always hated the fact that my grille was much flatter than the curve of the nose. So I bent it to conform a little better but now the mounting bolts are angled inwards and are a bit closer together which means that they won’t align with the mounting holes in the nose anymore.
I looked at a few pictures of grilles for sale and several are very flat looking as well. So they wouldn’t match the pointy end of the nose panel either. Like this one for example:
Is it supposed to be flat?
i was thinking of simply bending those bolts support brackets out a bit but the aluminium is already full of bumps so I was wondering if there was a more elegant way.

Kidney grille FS (SOLD)
From a 72, I think. Silver slats, very very clean and not abused. Not concours...Typical patina, not dinged up, very nice/shiny as is, or perfect candidate for next step restoration. This is my redundant back-up to one on my car; same condition. PM if interested to purchase, not here except...
