13 Years old post but worth a shot. What were the KW Coilovers like for the E9? I used them on an RS6 and was impressed. They seem to have done all the work on the spring rates and suggested settings. I am looking into fitting some.

Is there TUV for e9 KW coilovers?
I would need copy of TUV papers.

My understanding is the best KW coilover for the e9 is the one that RAAB Classic did. In the USA, VSR is the rep. Mario says that of all of the suspension systems he has tried on vintage BMW this is the best

I have GAZ Gold coilovers on my e9 but they have no TUV... I need only TUV papers to make mine legal. Yearly MOT is getting worse each year.

Friends,

VSR1.com is your USA source for the Raab Classic suspensions. We have installed these in numerous E9s, a bunch of 2002s and E28 E24, and E30 M3s.

Heinz Raab engineered the suspensions for the classic BMWs, KW is building them for RAAB.

Here's what special about this shock spring combination. The shocks and struts are engineered specifically for each chassis. The technology in these is all new, modern design double adjustable for compression and rebound. The smoothness and response of the shocks / struts in unmatched by anything else on the market for vintage cars.
Bilstein and Koni are still selling the same technology they developed in the early a days of our cars.

For example, I have these in my own 2002tii, which is my daily driver here in New Hampshire. I drive my car on rough roads, and on smooth freshly repaved twisties. I don't need to slow down for rough stretches, as there's no harsh pounding to the chassis and the car does bounce and hop on rough roads in turns. My previous 2002 setups have been Koni or Bilstein, with various springs, and sway bar combinations, name a brand, I've installed them all, and built numerous coilovers with soft to stiff springs. Using the old approach, I could only optimize a suspension for either rough or smooth roads.

Installing this set up in all the classics the result provides a controlled smooth, dare I say plush ride, that is by no means mushy. It really makes the suspension operate smoother than anything I have previously achieved since I have been working on BMWs, since 1977.... yes I'm old.

These are special order, usually in stock in Germany. They can work with the stock upper strut bearing, although we typically install an adjustable camber / caster plate to optimize alignment. Your front strut housing is required to be returned as cores.

The front strut set up for every car arrives assembled and ready for installation. I'll post some pictures of the components when we install the next set up here.

Thank you!

We have removed several BC Coil over set ups from E28 chassis cars. They gave absolutely the worst ride I have ever experienced in a BMW.

YMMV
