I reported that my tach was not working in an April post. I ran a wire from the negative side of the coil to the green wire post on the tach. I determined that the green wire was the correct wire from looking at wiring schematics in my repair book. Still no tach. I even added a new ground, still no tach. So, I asked AI "BMW Bavaria Tach not working". It came back with an article from a 2002 forum stating that the green wire on the tach was the power supply source from the fuse. There was a brown/ground wire going to the tach so that left the middle wire/connection. I unplugged the middle wire and plugged in my wire from the coil and viola; I now have a working tach after many years of it not working. I was so excited I told my wife, who smiled.

AI where the entire internet is searched in lieu of just Google is great and I use it daily for searches.
However, we (county residents) are fighting against the proposed 5 or 6 data centers in our GA county taking rural land, water, and power.

I've found it useful for this kind of thing too but the information you give it and what you tell it can be crucial. some cases, like yours, you give it a simple statement and it finds the correct information for you.

I'm looking at replacing the suspension bushings in my E12, ideally before a rally in a couple of weeks but who am I kidding, I don't have time for that, so later. I don't have replacements for the rear subframe bushings but I do have those poly inserts for them and I wanted to know what was needed to install them - e.g. do I need to lower the subframe and insert them from the top, or do they go in from the bottom and all I have to do is remove the cover plate below it. I got the right answer eventually, but I got a lot of confidently-delivered wrong information first. Fortunately Gemini gives references so you can see if it's wrong.
