Manual windows to power windows?

Below is little window time comparison we had some fun with:

Hi everyone,
If moving from manual to power ones, are you still looking for original E9 lifter mechanism or the rear ones coming out from E28 might also work?

My recollection is the most common failure in the old BMW windows is the pivot point on the mechanism frame. From my old copy of BMWCCA Tech Tips, Mercedes Part # 1155860172 (rivet and clip) will repair this. I just ordered 2 from www.oemmercedesbenzpartsdirect.com just in case.

Electric window specs according to the Blue Manual is 6 seconds down, 6 seconds up. Converting to E28 window motors saves a second in both directions with much more reliability.

Best of luck with your conversion when it happens.
