Looks like my auction just went live. Let’s hope the second time (and some Avant Garde) is the charm.

I’ve already messaged a couple of Portlanders on the forum that the car is nearby. If any other PNW locals would like to see it just to see it or comment on it, I’m happy to facilitate with Matt or Tom at their shop.

I’ll be available as “the owner” for comments and questions during the auction, but “contact seller” questions will go directly to 911r as the selling dealer. If friends and observers here want to reach out, fire away and I’ll watch my inbox.

Let the fun commence.

- Andy

you have very nice E9 look like new car I hope you make what you have in your mined, I wish you a good lock, my E9 will go live soon it will be after your auction over

Coupe looks fabulous. I feel a connection. I Lived in Belmont/San Carlos CA in the 90’s when this e9 did. I sold Andy the Enkei wheels in 2012. I had bought them from @lip277 in 2009. @vince I’m planning to visit Avant Garde early next week as well maybe I’ll meet you there. :)

Those wheels are getting some love in the auction comments. They're holding up well! They do present very well when when polished up--I had the center mesh painted in a dolphin gray (IIRC an Audi B6 shade), which gives them some subtle contrast in the center versus a silver.

Cool. Interesting connection on the wheels. Wow -2009... Time flies...

Gorgeous car; love the Recaro seats in that 6-series Buffalo-type color!

Too bad the PO put on the seam sealer so sloppily on the inner fenders, but maybe that's how it supposed to be? At any rate, nice 1.5-condition car!

Too bad you're getting out of the E9 business. 911r should do you good.

Ha. I think the WerkShop used tongue depressors or kids' fingers to put that sealer on. It looks worse in the pictures than IRL, but still. And that wasn't the PO; that was under my/their "watch." All the restoration was at my direction, so if there's anything wonky...that's directly or indirectly on me.

Ya, I kinda prefer the seam sealer go on from underneath, so the topside looks more like this:

but I don't know what's more "correct."

the question on the red car is IF they seam sealed it. if you seam seal the underside you are likely going to trap water in the seams. we used a self-leveling seam sealer on my coupe ... and its a pretty fine line. the thing is, BMW on many of the newer cars like the e30 did an ugly job with seam sealing.

Rob--You made the same comment about excess seam sealer on my car's fenders when it was on BaT back in 2018. Now I know what it should look like on Scott's car. But when your car is Turkis, no one really cares.....:)

i have a good feeling that people are going to show up today and your coupe will get some attention. here is hoping for big numbers

For everyone's sake, I'm hoping the same! There aren't too many more stops I can pull out...

We'll have to have another BaT experience retrospective post-sale.

See you on the other side, and thanks to all who commented in support (or bit their tongues)!
