On the clutch remaining depressed issue, check to make sure that the spring is free from anything near it, and also make sure that there isn’t an edge of the carpet or mat catching the pedal and keeping it down. May also want to squirt some grease along the shaft onto which all of the pedals are mounted. All easy things that don’t involve any deconstruction.
