that's how i know they don't have any right now. Don checked for one for my euro b34 he is building. they should have some more in a month or so (i believe). i checked some other places - ecs tuning has a reasonable price ... you just don't know if they really have any or when they will get them. other people may have them, but they charge a whole lot more for them.

exactly why i was recommending to talk to Don ... Scott could hopefully buy a refurbed head from Don - then you know you would be buying a good piece of kit.
 
I could supply a cyl head. Could do either used with a pressure test or complete with valve job. Are you running carbs (mech fuel pump) or injection (electric fuel pump)? It is best to use a post 1981 casting but those are tough to find with mech fuel pump fitting. I also have a spanish cast updated head available.

If your current head is pre 1981 casting I would not advise welding it unless you have to keep the car completely original.

For the archives- a known good, refurbished and guaranteed POST 1982 head is valued fairly at 750.00 to the group.

VAC Motorsports in Philly shows a Schrick 282/282 cam which appears to be in stock. I know the description doesn't exactly match Steve's invoice, but they show two 284 degree cams for fuel injected cars, and this cam for a car with carbs.
 
the difference in the cam has to do with the lobe for the mechanical fuel pump. if you have a head that doesn't have the hole ... then you have no need for that cam because you are already using an electric pump
 
Remember-early cams are forked for distributor and later are motronic with pin.
