Anyone have a new AC Expansion Valve with the flared (not O-ring) fitting? Looks like Penske and Real-OEM have them new for $90 or so but I cannot tell if these are flared or not.
Looks pretty close. I ordered my compressor from these guys. I called around to the usual suspects and it looks like these are available new from Germany. However, at 90 + shipping, these alternatives at $20 are worth a shot.
Hello!
I bought this one:

Very similar to the original, copper tubing a bit longer but that had no practical significance.

Getting to be that time of year so refreshing this one.
Going to do the A/C on Sahara and need an expansion valve.
Is this the same one people have been using. Copper flares, etc:

washers at NAPA. Ask Jeff for the part number. Hell, he might have some left over... along with spares from the parts car that got crushed too.
Right on - thanks Jerry. I purchased the 16x18" parallel flow condenser and a 14" low profile fan. Also the driers and a Sanden style compressor. I have a 633 engine in storage that has the bracket I need and it has a compressor on it - but I think it's for R134. Thoughts? Did the 633csi run an R12 system? Maybe I can just use that compressor.
Cheers

At $20 a can for R12 on the "craigslist market" in Houston the extra cooling capacity is worth it I think. I found someone last year that 20 cans and bought them all
Thanks for the info on the 633csi system. I will take that one off and clean it up and see how it looks. A new sanden style compressor and adapter bracket from the guy on Ebay aren't that expensive either.

Hi Steve,
Totally changing the subject - did you get to meet up w/ Steve Fisher - "Datsun guy" when he came through New Orleans? He stopped in w/ me for a few days after.
Cheers
