New FAQ Under Construction

Is that a single solid black next to brown/blacks instead of 1 black/blue and 1 black/red? 9 wires vs later 10 wires, another change.

Looks like I have a single Black one and not having the Blk/Rd and Blk/Bl !!
Now these two wires go to speed control. Diagram shows 6 wires to SC . Mine has only three wires at the control. Mine also has only one speed higher than the stalk.
Could this be the differnce?
Not a good picture, but..

More help needed for a 74 coupe. This pic shows relays 4, 5 and 6 as I call them. Four is wiper, five (orange) is load shed, but 6 (small black one) is new to me and not on any diagram. Could it be for electric sunroof? Please reply only if you have this relay, providing wire colors would be awesome!

Hi HBChris, here’s my April 74 USA automatic transmission car relay lineup.

Thank you Eric. I am guessing the sixth one next to the load shed is for electric sunroof, do you have that? It isn’t in Any diagrams.

I pulled the small black relay #6 on the right, sunroof still worked but car wouldn’t start. I should be more specific, starter would not turn.

Chris, sorry for the delay. Family activities.
I finally had time to go down and take some pictures of those relays. One thing that was immediately obvious is that, in my car, there is no actual relay inserted in number 6 receptacle. However my electric sunroof does work fine. This indicates that that six relay is not for the sunroof.
Going a little deeper, I noticed that there is actually a single black wire going into that connector. Tracing that wire, it goes to the ignition key. Then, going to my trusty schematic (which you provided me years ago) I found out that that 6th position is for relay 91 "Automatic starter relay". Since mine was converted to manual, this direct wire I have is simply bypassing the relay.

I’m not aware of what the “O” position is but I am willing to bet it is to make sure it is in “P” before it allows the starter to come to life.

O is neutral, will start only in P or O. Good to know what that lineup of relays are.
