Yeah, the Zenith linkage has a kink in it. Not sure it works with Webers.

I’m pretty sure it does iirc perhaps other weber dgav users can chime i. That might solve your clearance issues
Pierce Manifolds have a BMW 6 cylinder Weber conversion kit that includes the linkage. Perhaps they sell separately and this may give you the extra few mm clearance.
